Appointment of Sir Thomas Harris
The Board of Directors of Biocompatibles International plc, a medical device company focused on drug device Combination Products for use in cardiology and oncology, is pleased to announce that Sir Thomas Harris, KBE, CMG will be joining the Board of the Company as a non-executive director with effect from today, 1st November 2005.
Sir Thomas currently holds the position of Vice Chairman of Standard Chartered Capital Markets Ltd. Until 2004, he was Director General of Trade & Investment USA responsible for US-British business and technology promotion throughout the United States and for overseeing British representation in the North East of the US. Sir Thomas served as British Ambassador to Korea in Seoul from 1994 ? 1997 having previously served as Deputy High Commissioner in Lagos, Nigeria and Commercial Counsellor in the British Embassy in Washington DC.
Sir Thomas is the author of a number of publications and was knighted in 2002 for services to victims of the 11 September attack.
