Our Approach to Responsibility

"Corporate responsibility has become an integral part of our corporate decision-making process.  This makes sound business sense, enabling us to benefit from the adoption of sustainable behaviours for the environment and to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders."

Louise Makin, CEO

At BTG, acting responsibly and in line with our values is an important part of our company culture. We believe that this will ultimately benefit us by earning us greater respect and trust.

We’ve recently adopted a new, structured approach to Corporate Responsibility ('CR') reporting and we aim to operate our programme in accordance with internationally recognised standards.

To ensure we remain focused on areas which are relevant to us, our CR Committee comprises employees who represent our main functional activities. We meet on a quarterly basis to set targets and monitor progress. The Committee reports to Rolf Soderstrom, our Board member with overall responsibility for CR.

Reporting Criteria

Our CR reporting criteria have been carefully chosen as most relevant to our business and feature widely in peer specialty pharmaceutical company CR disclosures:

An extensive internal review has been conducted by the CR Committee, to capture all our company activities. Highlights are summarised here, under each reporting criterion together with our 2010/11 CR targets.
